ATTENTION RIVER WILDERNESS RESIDENTS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Additionally, Emergency golf cart transportation will be available from the nearest street in difficult situations, though delays may occur.
All irrigation must be turned off for the entirety of the project. It is okay to hand water your planting beds during the process as long as the runoff does not reach the roadway.
You must postpone any major projects such as construction, re-roofing, driveway pavers, dumpster pick-up and /or delivery, etc. until April 1 if you live on the streets being repaved.
Please be aware of the crew and where they are working every day. You will be allowed to drive your regular vehicles to and from the property. Expect delays as the equipment passes your house.
DO NOT park any vehicle on the roadways being milled or paved as they will be towed at the owner’s expense. Do not park on the grass. "On the Road Parking" will be permitted on Little Country Road during the milling and paving process for your street.
To avoid your vehicle collecting dust, you should park in the garage or off property.
Heavily weighted down tarps can be used to protect driveways.
To avoid dust in the home, keep all windows closed during the milling and paving project.
Inform vendors and personal guests, as well as nurses, home health care aides, service people etc. so that they are aware of the milling schedule as well. They should expect delays on the days that your street is being milled or repaved.
Garbage and Recycle pick-up will be diverted if it occurs on a day your street is being milled or paved.
Large vehicles and or trailers will not be allowed on a street when milling or paving equipment is on that street. These include lawn service vehicles and moving vans.
Reschedule all your vendors and all your deliveries (including Fed-Ex and UPS) until at least 7 days after the paving is complete. Or you could arrange to pick up deliveries at their nearest offices.
The entrance side of the Old Tampa Road gate will be closed for a part of one day during the second week. Flagmen will be stationed to redirect traffic.
If possible, Wilderness Blvd West, Savannah Lakes & Islands Residents should use the Ft. Hamer Road entrance from February 28 through March 5 and should inform all their vendors and visitors to also use that gate during those dates. Please be aware that longer vehicles cannot navigate the circle on Island Estates Drive without doing damage to properties. Residents will need to postpone these services for these days. We expect the Old Tampa Road entrance and Wilderness Blvd. West to be impacted for only one to two days during this time but cannot yet specify an exact date.
Do not power wash driveways along the repaved roadways from February 19 until April 1. Wait at least 7 days after paving is complete to wash them with a hose |
